This happend to me with the refurbished xbox 360. Then the next day i got the 3 rings of doom. I would return it before the problem gets worse. If you cant return it call xbox and send it in. I dont think their is much you can do it is a glitch in the system, it happens.

Reply:Ours did this as well when we had it sitting vertical and on the carpet. once we put it horizontal and on the shelf it works fine.Also we have the most expensive inter-cooler and it still happened so it isn't from overheated. Also from it sitting vertical it ruined 2 games scratching a circle around it from it grinding.
Reply:This happens to me a lot all i do is restart my console and that usually works, when that doesnt work i just shut off my console for the day and resume the next day, it happens when the xbox over heats. if it keeps happening then buy the inter cooler, which is an attachment that keeps the xbox cooler. if none of that works then u mite want to return it :(

Reply:Be careful, Xbox 360 has a 30% failing rate!!! Everyone I know that has the 360, has had to return it for a new one. My uncle had to do it 5 times!!!
