I have a question about cleaning a video game c.d.?

My nephew has some video game c.d.'s that he is trying to clean. I hvae heard to use rubbing alcohol and also someone told me to use toothpaste. His games are freezing up and I think he has spilled soft drinks on some of them. Does anyone have a suggestion? He is driving me CrAzY!!! Thanks!

For CD's I've been told Brasso is the most superior cleaning agent.
Reply:i use toothpaste, but u could also use windex for the soft drinks. good luck.
Reply:I will buy a c.d. cleaner they are mostly soled in movie store.
Reply:DON'T USE TOOTHPASTE!!!! You'll kill them!

Just use a little isopropyl/rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab, and wipe out from the middle towards the edge (like bicycle spokes).

Good luck!
Reply:Simple water and a soft lint free cloth will work, It does not hurt to get the Cd's wet but they all scratch very easily.
Reply:Ok--you use a little bit of peanut butter, smear it around the CD, then wipe it all off with a coffie filter paper. i swear it works. just make sure you get every bit of peanut butter off
Reply:Those game DR things that remove scratchs can buff out stuff like that too. However, they have these clear plastic things you can stick on to the backs of CD/DVDs now that are like screen protectors. If that gets scratched or gunked on, you can just remove the film and replace it with a new one. The CD/DVD stays clean!
